About the Opportunity

MDS is seeking to employ a Fixed-Term Supervisor for our Youth and Recreation Programs. This role is covering a parental leave position commencing in March 2021 for a 19 week period. This position will provide support to the School Holiday Program, Living Skills for Adults/Young People and all of our other social/recreation programs. The position will be responsible for overseeing day to day running of programs and reports to the Manager - Employment, Youth and Recreation.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supervising a team of staff working in isolation
  • Program development and implementation
  • Problem solving operational needs in each of the programs
  • Acting as a resource providing coaching, direction and feedback to the team
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders (carers, parents, participants)

The successful applicant will have:

  • Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Qualification (current within 3 years) and HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (current within 12 months)
  • Working with Children Clearance
  • Certificate IV in a relevant discipline or experience in a similar role
  • Experience in coordinating program resources (staff, time, vehicles etc)
  • Excellent customer service skills

The Position is Fixed-Term Part Time working 52 hours per fortnight with additional hours as required. This role may require you to work weekdays and weekends including afternoon shifts and split shifts. This role is part of the On Call roster system (an on call allowance is provided).   This role is covered under the SCHCADS Award at a Level 4 Classification ($36.62 - $39.40 per hour). Also offered is salary packaging, mobile phone and leave loading. All applicants will need to complete a NDIS Worker Screening Check and the successful candidate will need to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
